what has undoubtedly been the wettest August I can remember with the average water levels way above normal. This has lead to great runs of fish, though mainly to spinning as conditions have not been good for the fly. Early last week we were just getting to the point where by flyfishing was starting to produce when we got more rain and sent all the rivers into roaring flood. And as I write this my local river has the highest flood level I have ever seen on it. Both the Munster Blackwater and the Laune have been fishing very well. The Blackwater has seen some of the best summer fishing in years, August was particularly good and September should follow suit once levels drop enough so we can get out and fish. P.s Sorry about the lack of reports, but between working at the fishery and guiding, time has been somewhat lacking. I can assure you though that the lack of reports is not down to a lack of fish. All I have to do now is to get a few days fishing in myself before the season closes. Tighlines.
