"...Trout fishing on the River Lee has been excellent..."

The Trout fishing on the River Lee has been excellent over the last 10 days, with plenty of Trout in the 1 - 3lbs bracket being caught on the fly. Fish are being caught in both high and normal water levels with the Trout in excellent condition. With April now upon us the fishing will only get better in the coming weeks particularly with the rain we are now having which should top up the rivers nicely. A Couple of floods should encourage the Salmon to start running in greater numbers. The Salmon season has been somewhat unpredictable over the last fortnight with fish being caught on a given day and then nothing the next day. Small pods of Salmon seem to be pushing through the systems. While numbers of fish are still low this should improve in the coming weeks with April/May being the best months for Spring Salmon on the River Lee and indeed the Munster Blackwater and the River Laune in Kerry.
