"...With fresh water now in the systems sport should pick up..."

After what has been a quiet May on the Salmon front, with sporadic bursts of fish coming into the rivers, June has started off with a few timely floods. No Bank Busters unfortunetly but still these floods should get the Grilse moving in larger numbers and bring in any late May fish. The river Lee has probably had the best run of fish of all the rivers around, though they have difficult to catch. Despite maintaining good water levels due to generating from the Inniscarra Hydro Dam, this water has still been fairly stale and the fish seem reluctant to take. The best sport during the past few weeks for both the Munster Blackwater and River Lee has coincided with the larger tides. Better numbers of fish ran the rivers at these times, making a marked difference to the rod catches. With fresh water now in the systems sport should pick up over the coming days as these floods fine down, and fresh fish enter the systems.
