"...we soon took up the spinning rods..."

Having fished early this morning in normal water conditions (no generating) with no avail, though after a cold night the fish seemed a little slow to get moving. We returned to the river at 2.30pm to find the river at half load and rising slowly. Starting with the fly rods we soon took up the spinning rods as the water reached full height. Paul hooked and landed a fish at 3.30pm, a lovely sealiced 8lb fish. We continued to fish on till 7.30pm with no further fish though some fish were seen moving through.
