Very Heavy rain on the Saturday, running into Sunday morning resulted in high Spates on most of the spate rivers in Kerry, such as the Kerry Blackwater & the Sneem River. This resulted in approx 8 fish being caught on the Sunday on the Kerry Blackwater, where good numbers of fish were seen running early in the morning. Levels were still good on the Monday, when I had three lovely Grilse myself on the fly. Last night approx 112 fish entered the river giving excellent prospects for the coming week, particularly with more rain due Wednesday/Thursday this week. The Laune rose quickly and dropped just as fast with no great reports being heard. The river Lee is currently very high and coloured as I write this, though fishing should be good once the clarity improves. The Munster Blackwater also had a significant rise, and as large numbers Grilse & Autumn fish were reported in the tidal stretches just prior to the flood, prospects for the coming fortnight should be considered as excellent.
