The Best of the Bass !!

Large numbers of Bass along the south coast of Ireland this are providing great sport on both Fly & Spinner. The Bass seems to have made a bit of a comeback this year. this is particularly so with respect to larger double figure fish. The average weight in general has gone up, with plenty of fish in the 5lbs to 10lbs bracket. Often with up to 10 of these fish being caught in a fishing session, and the odd fish well into double figures. These fish are being caught on the Fly and light spinning gear, using surface lures and poppers in calm condtions and sinking patterns, Rapalas and spoons in rougher water. When searching for these fish look to the rougher ground on either side of most beaches along the open coast.
