Anglers: Bill Beazly with Kieran Conlon
Having covered all the water in the morning with the shrimp with no takes or sign of a fish.
There was a cold easterly gale coming up the river making fly-fishing difficult & dangerous.
At approx 11am the water rose about 2 feet as the ESB started generating.
We returned to beat one where Bill Fly-Fished/Shrimped and Spun.
We saw the first fish coming through at lunchtime on the extra water. Most of these were fresh fish of the tide, though try as we might we could not get these fish to take anything, maybe due to the easterly wind, though I have previously caught Salmon here with a strong easterly though when the water was much higher?
The Munster Blackwater is starting to come into it’s own with good fish being taken on most of the beats especially between Fermoy and Mallow.
